Organizing your books takes up a lot of time. It can even be stressful once you’ve decided to declutter your book collection. After all, the thought of never seeing something you’ve loved and cherished for so long ever again is one of the hardest things to do.

When it comes to decluttering books, you’re not just trying to make your shelves look more aesthetically pleasing or getting some much-needed extra space. You’re also facing an internal struggle between your desire to hold on to your books versus your resolve to let them go. As fellow bibliophiles, we understand how difficult it can be to say goodbye to your precious books.

Whether you plan on donating your books or giving them away to someone you know, there will always be that constant worrying about what would happen to them once you’re done decluttering.

One thing every declutterer should practice is how to declutter responsibly. With this in mind, try to ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Which books will stay and which ones will go?
  2. Where will the books end up?
  3. Who can take good care of the books?

While these are just some of the factors to consider when you declutter your book collection, the thing you should keep in mind is how you can make the best out of your book decluttering experience. The good news is there are several articles online that can help you with that. We’ll link a few ones below you might want to check out.

If you’re interested in becoming a seller at BookSpine PH, here’s a quick guideline on how to take photos of your books:

  1. File Size: ≤ 20 MB per image
  2. File Type: .JPG or .JPEG
  3. Aspect Ratio (width:height):  3:4
  4. Others: Provide a margin between the book and the frame to ensure that the book itself will not be unwantedly cropped.

Our goal is to bring the experience of a buyer walking into a physical bookstore and being able to pick up a book from the shelf, look at it from different angles and check the pages. This is why we’ll be requesting you to send us an actual photo of the cover, the sides, and a few pages of the book.

With BookSpine PH, you can rest assured that your books will be in safe hands. To learn more about us, you can check our article on The Ultimate Guide to BookSpine PH.
