    Operations Officer

    Responsibilities:

    • Budgeting and disbursements
    • Financial analysis, pricing, forecasting
    • Update metrics and provide significant financial reports
    • Maintain team member records
    • Onboarding & debriefing of team members
    • Training & development for the team
    • Lead team engagements, events & other employee relations tasks
    • Review & track internal and external contracts
    • Documentation of procedures/protocols and update as necessary

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in business administration, management, accounting or other similar degree programs
    • At least 1 year experience in a relevant role or environment

    INTERNSHIPS

     

    Product Development Intern(s)

    Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with product development lead in maintaining current technology and developing new features
    • Product and process documentation
    • Agile software development
    • Work with cross-functional teams

    Qualifications:

    • Taking up Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology or any computer-related courses
    • Ability to work in teams
    • Familiar with Javascript, PHP, Ruby on Rails or any programming languages
    • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, OpenCart, etc is an advantage, but not required
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
    • Ability to follow instructions

       

      Community Management Intern(s)

      Responsibilities:

      • Support the growth of BookSpine Learning Club and manage engagement platforms used in the community
      • Assist in planning and execution of activities, events, and other engagements for the community (i.e. Learning Sessions, Monthly Welcome Party, etc.)
      • Facilitate discussions in our community space before, during, and after the learning sessions
      • Engage with and monitor the activeness of the community members to make sure their expectations are met and experiences are maximized
      • Attend meetings, provide strategic solutions, and perform other relevant tasks as deemed necessary by the Community Lead

      Qualifications:

      • Course/Program related to Communications, Marketing, Management, Business (preferred but not required)
      • Growth mindset
      • Passion and/or experience in building, managing, and sustaining online communities
      • Excellent communication skills
      • Ability to work with multiple teams and manage diverse tasks simultaneously
      • Experience with handling and hosting events and social media platforms is a plus
      • Experience in customer service type of role is a plus

       

      Inventory Intern(s)

      Responsibilities:

      • Monitor the inventory of books and book supplies
      • Assist with the coordination between owners and BookSpine Mall/Warehouse Team
      • Assist in booking couriers
      • Answer email inquiries
      • Upload books and book supplies to the company's website
      • Assist in promoting Pasa-benta and BookDonate

      Qualifications:

      • Business-related or Industrial Engineering Course (preferred)
      • Growth mindset
      • Willingness to learn new things
      • Excellent communication skills
      • Can work with little supervision
      • Detail-oriented and organized
      • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, OpenCart, etc. is a huge plus
      • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and Airtable is an advantage

       

      Warehouse Inventory Intern(s)

      Responsibilities:

      • Receiving of books from either BookDonate or Pasa-Benta
      • Checking the condition of the book
      • Encoding the details (title, author, etc.) and uploading to the Database
      • Storing the book in the respective shelves
      • Checking actual books and Shelf location are tally vs System
      • Picking Orders and releasing to 3PL (third party logistics)
      • Answering book inquiries (pictures and availability)
      • Work with cross-functional teams

      Qualifications:

      • Industrial Engineering course/program (ideal but not required)
      • Preferably male
      • Computer literate and with laptop
      • Good communication skills
      • Must be willing to travel to Makati

       

      Customer Experience & Finance Intern(s)

      Responsibilities:

      • Assist in finance and accounting tasks
      • Analyze transactions related to company operations
      • Respond to customer queries in a timely and accurate way, via phone, email, or chat
      • Update our internal databases with information about issues and useful discussions with customers
      • Monitor customer complaints on social media and reach out to provide assistance
      • Follow up with customers to ensure their concerns are resolved
      • Gather customer feedback and share it with the team
      • Handle order transactions
      • Assist in booking couriers
      • Work closely with cross-functional teams
      • Perform other duties as needed and assigned

      Qualifications:

      • Degree programs related to Business Management, Finance, or Accounting (not required but encouraged)
      • Proficient with computers and tools such as Google Sheets, MS Excel, Airtable
      • Understanding of basic accounting principles and processes
      • Willingness to analyze the effects of transactions in the financial statements
      • Experience in a Customer Support or Service role is an advantage
      • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

      HR Intern(s)

      Responsibilities:

      • Monitor onboarding and debriefing tasks for team members
      • Assist in processing contracts and in payroll
      • Assist in designing HR processes in a startup business environment especially those in relation to team engagements, team wellness, and professional development
      • Creating documentations and reports
      • Organizing documents/files

      Qualifications:

      • Any course/program related to Human Resources
      • Willing to organize virtual events for the team

        Accounting & Admin Intern(s)

        Responsibilities:

        • Creating BIR form 2307
        • Analyze and record transactions on GSheet and QuickBooks Online
        • Organizing BIR forms, compliance files, and other supporting documents
        • Creating cash vouchers and other documentations/reports
        • Assist in designing accounting & admin processes in a startup business environment
        • Revenues and expenses tracking
        • Assist in disbursements
        • Creating documentations and reports

        Qualifications:

        • Any finance/accountancy-related course
        • Understanding of basic accounting principles and processes
        • Detail-oriented and organized

          User Experience(UX) / User Interface(UI) Intern(s)

          Responsibilities:

          • User research
          • Usability testing
          • Creating mock-ups/wireframes
          • Collaborate with other teams to develop a more user-centered experience

          Qualifications:

          • Taking up any engineering or design-related course (preferably Computer Science, IT, Industrial Design, etc.)
          • Willingness to learn new things

          • Experience with designing digital products is a plus

             

            Community Marketing Intern(s)

            Responsibilities:

            • Brainstorm ideas and create campaigns that align with the community's goals
            • Write engaging posts and create content for the company's social media platforms (e.g. FB, Instagram, TikTok)
            • Monitor social media platforms' analytics

            Qualifications:

            • Course/Program related to Marketing, Communications, Creative Writing, Business (preferred but not required)
            • Growth mindset

            • Experience in content writing is a plus

                 

                Operations Management Intern(s)

                Responsibilities:

                • Intern will be assigned to 1-2 department/s and help oversee and document their process to ensure that the teams reach their goals as quickly as possible
                • Work directly with CEO and top management of the company in planning, organizing, coordinating, and controlling resources to deliver value to stakeholders
                • Audit existing processes and make proposals on how to improve operations of the department/s assigned to intern for increased efficiency and effectivity
                • Make recommendations and provide insights based on data
                • Create flow charts, process diagrams, SOP manuals, and other documentations as needed
                • Make sure all documentations, processes, and reference materials are up-to-date
                • Ensure consistent alignment internally within the teams, and externally across different teams regarding decisions and protocols
                • Assist CEO and Managers in overseeing team performance and creating protocols to ensure high productivity

                Depending on areas of interest and skills, intern will be assigned to 1-2 of any of the following teams:
