BookDonate by BookSpine

BookSpine’s BookDonate Program provides a new home for your books while supporting children’s literacy.

Through BookDonate, people can donate all kinds of books and supplies which are then sold on the BookSpine PH platforms. We make sure the books get matched to the right owners who will value them, while a significant part of proceeds are then donated to our partner foundations.

We make sure that your book donations are put to good use

A – Sold on our website
We believe that all it takes is one book to change a life. Thus, our goal is to ensure that the books you donate get matched to the right owners who will value and appreciate them. Upon sale of the books, a significant portion of the proceeds are then donated to our partner beneficiary for children literacy, Read-to-Achieve Foundation.

B – Donated directly to partner organizations
Some books which are not sold online are also donated directly to our partner non-profit organizations to support their socio-civic projects like community libraries, donations to public schools, outreach activities, etc.

Frequently Asked Questions

All kinds of books (regardless of genre) and extra stationery or office supplies are accepted – as these will also be examined and sorted out by our team.

What’s NOT accepted: BookSpine PH is against illegally reprinted or pirated books – so we do not accept these.

For books sold on our platform, a significant percentage of the sales go directly to our partner foundations – amounts of which vary depending on the agreement per organization.

Other books are also donated directly to our partner organizations for their projects and redistributed to the beneficiaries.

Due to the high volume of donations received, unfortunately we are unable to track the movement of each book donation at the moment so we can’t inform you yet of where your specific book went to (but this is our goal in the future!). However, rest assured that they will either be sold online or donated directly to our partners.

We regularly post transparency reports on our website for all sales related to the BookDonate program, and we send a copy of these to our donors as well. Moreover, for books donated directly to our partners, we post details of the projects on the website as well.

BookSpine PH is an SEC-registered company and we are fully compliant and undergo regular audits to ensure we uphold our highest standards of integrity. We also only work with partner organizations which are legitimately registered and have official documentations.

Donors will receive 1 point (equivalent to PhP 1) per book donated. These can be used on buying books and supplies at bookspine.ph – no minimum spend! This will be valid a year from the date of issuance, non-transferrable.
